Dhoni's old hairstyle got Presidential approval at Lahore in February 2006 when General Musharraf complimented his long locks while handing over the man-of-the-match award to the dashing keeper batsmen who scored 72 off 46 balls to guide India home in the third one-day international against Pakistan.
Referring to a placard waved from the stands, Gen. Musharraf had exhorted Dhoni to keep his hair on. "There was a placard held by a fan asking Dhoni to cut his hair. But, my suggestion to Dhoni is he should not cut his hair. You look very good in it," he had told the player causing ripples of laughter to break out around the stadium.
